this was my original post:

------- my son will grow up flying kites in the rice fields and playing out after dark that childhood doesn't really exist in the UK anymore (thats the whole reason i left) -------

people came for my NECK in swarms assuming I meant people used to be able to play in rice fields in the UK

1. it really isn't that deep 😭 2. it's THREADS 3. it's an interpretation

could I have added something else to clarify like 'that KIND of childhood doesn't exist...'

what's affected me isn't the hate (im used to it 💀) it's the realisation that these types of people still exist on social media

cos its 2026 babes why are we STILL bashing people for no reason?? over a THREAD??

do you know the impact that can have on someone not doing well mentally? trying to pursue a new project? dealing with anxiety? it sounds dramatic but it can shatter their dreams or pull them back into a rut - I've seen it happen so many times

it's actually pretty sad, and I hope things change before my son inevitably gets social media (or whatever brain chip Elon Musk invention is around in 2045)

in a world so connected, why is it so impossible for some people to spread kindness (or if not kindness, keep your thoughts to yourself)?
