No babe
You need the ones you've GOT to actually SELL!!
I've scaled 300+ health and wellness brands as a fractional CMO, and every single Q4 someone proudly shows me a dashboard with 200 partners on it.
But ultimately that doesn’t equal ROI and brand success when only 12 of them posted last month 🤡
That's not an affiliate program!
Black Friday is 29 days away. Here's what actually gets partners selling, and you more money:
→ Lock your rate NOW. Panic raising your mid-November rate gets noticed by creators and can deter potentially amazing partners
→ Recruit the right partner type, not the biggest following. I'd take a trusted nutritionist with 4k followers over a lifestyle account with 400k for a wellness brand any day.
→ Brief them before peak season. Assets, dates, hooks. Nobody films good content the night before Black Friday, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
→ More commission won't wake up a stagnant partner. Activation will.
Last November, a supplement founder asked me whether to double her rate the week before Black Friday. I told her she’s too late, and she’s gotta accept the loss. If she'd had a benchmark and activation in October, she’d have about $400k more in Black Friday sales.
So I ran that same brand through UpPromote Commission Benchmark Tool to see what’s actually going on. It matched us to the Fitness + Nutrition niche and showed an exact affiliate ICP that would drive the highest ROI
(and it’s not AI or guessing - it’s data from stores that have earned 5-figures from affiliates)
A benchmark isn't necessarily a rule (your margin decides the ceiling ofc), but it's a far better starting line than a guess or just following a competitor’s strategy

Be honest... how many of your affiliates posted last month? 👀
