Success isn't having $1m in the bank
Success isn't having $1m in the bank
(it's not even having $100k)
now we all have our own definitions of success
but what I hate hate hate is that social media and modern pressure pre-defines what success is for you
a porsche financial 'freedom' travel a nice big house
At 23, I had all those things (minus the Porsche)
I was a millionaire, in the literal sense
so why didn't I feel successful?
well, that's a story you can read over here: https://lnkd.in/gGWN9WdR
fast forward 3 years, a 7 month old and a baptism later...
I'm the most successful I have ever been
yet so much more
fulfilled. joyful. FREE!
Do I have $1m in the bank? A huge fancy house? A status car?
nah
But I am living in Bali in a gorgeous house. I take the day off not just if I need it, but if I want it. I spend afternoons at the beach club with my family. I have weekly games nights with my friends (reigning Monopoly queen here, hi 👋)
I could work more and become a millionaire again, easy
I did it at 22, I could do it again now
(if you read the full story in the link above, you'll actually see how and why I actually just gave up my $1m)
But I am successful. Because I have FREEDOM!
So why would I trade my freedom for working more hours???
To make more money? Why?
There's enough studies and scientific data that categorically prove that money doesn't buy happiness
So why are we all conditioned to strive towards financial goals?
You want a $50k month. you get it. Then you go 'let's go for $100k months!'
It doesn't end. Trust me. I've been there
Your thirst will never be quenched no matter the number in your bank account
So I ask you this - what would your business and life look like if you started optimising for freedom, rather than money?
