locals in Bali make £150/month on average
locals in Bali make £150/month on average
yet they're the most joyful people I've ever met
I've lived in Bali for 3 years now, and it's COMPLETELY changed my life
whenever I go back to the UK, I'm in a state of literal shock 😭
not just because it's grey... everywhere
but it's the miserable people (or should I say, the societal machine)
they blame it on the cost of living, the rising tax, the weather
but that's all an external excuse up for the real sadness, which is internal
not helped by the competition, the comparison, the consumerism
at times I can't believe I grew up surrounded by it all
to me, Bali is home
the place I'm raising my family
(say hi to our new puppy, Oakley)
it's... freedom
and what is the point of being a business owner, building your own company, going through all those hurdles we go through
if at the end of it, you don't feel free?
I know countless locals that love their life here
They make 3.6million IDR per month (about £150) who
don't want more prioritise family and friends laugh with you until the sun goes down
then they laugh a little more
I'm not a millionaire
I don't have a property or business portfolio
But I do have freedom
If you made it to the end, it might be worth asking yourself what you're actually working for
because maybe it looks a lil different to what you expect
