is this the end of Neutrogena® Professional?

is this the end of Neutrogena® Professional?

quite possibly Hayden Panettiere died on sunday, aged 36. no cause released (and this post isn't about that) but something she said in May resurfaced this week, and it's a marketing problem. so here's the marketing problem by her account: she'd been a Neutrogena face since she was a teenager in 2015 she went on live with Kelly and Michael, got asked about her character's postpartum storyline, and answered from experience. She'd been diagnosed that April not only was it brave, but it brough awareness to PPD word came back that Neutrogena wanted to fire her under the morals clause. her rep argued it was illegal to terminate someone over a medical condition. so they didn't. she finished the term, it wasn't renewed, and nobody from the company ever called (Neutrogena have never commented on any of it. not in May, not this week. so this is her side, and it's the only side on record)

the CDC and the NHS both put postpartum depression at around 1 in 8 women. roughly half go undiagnosed so a skincare brand selling almost entirely to women treated the one of most common complications of childbirth as a 'brand risk' Neutrogena bro: you're SELLING to these people! and to be fair, nobody in 2015 was reading these documents with maternal mental health in mind which is the point. nobody was reading them (!!) they get drafted once by legal and never opened again, iykyk ten years, and the thing she said broke her heart wasn't the money. it was not hearing a word from anybody 🥹

so now, all over the internet people are boycotting Neutrogena

and I'm not one to hop on 'trends', but I can say I'll never purchase another one of their products again

bc what do you mean a woman going through PPD is cause for contract termination?

Do better Neutrogena, because this whole situation brings disgrace upon your name

Working on this for your own brand? This is exactly what I do with clients — fractional cmo for health & wellness brands.
